About the program
The ‘Asia in the World’ programme is designed to promote innovative research and global collaboration in Asian Studies, ensuring that the fellowship benefits both individual researchers and the broader academic community. The co-hosting model helps sustain our ambition to make it a truly multi-centred mode of knowledge production and collaborative exchange.
Eligibility criteria
- Open to early- to mid-career researchers in the Social Sciences, Humanities, or Arts with a PhD
- Must be fully available from October 2026 to October 2027
- Fieldwork should be done before the start of the fellowship
- Minimum 90% duration spent in Leiden or at co-host institutions, with required health insurance for Netherlands stay
