About the Program

The AEON 1% Club Foundation – through the Directorate General of Youth (GDY), Ministry of Education Youth and Sport will organize Asia Youth Leaders from July 26 to August 1, 2026 in Okinawa, Tokyo, Japan

The Asia Youth Leaders 2026 program brings together high school students from Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China to discuss global social and environmental issues, foster cross-cultural understanding, and propose innovative solutions in English to cultivate the next generation of global leaders.

The Directorate General of Youth will be nominating 8 Cambodian high school students to attend the program.

Benefits

For selected students:

Accommodation
Roundtrip economy airfare, and inland transportation going to Japan.
Delegates are required to shoulder their travel expenses from their residence (province) to Phnom Penh International Airport and back, accommodation in Phnom Penh for the pre-departure briefing at the GDY Office.

Eligibility

Must be 15 to 17 years old (by 2026)
Be in good physical and mental condition and act according to the program schedule orderly and live harmoniously in a large group.
Have an interest in Japan and be expected to expand exchange and promote friendship among Japan and its own participating country.
Possess considerable knowledge of the society and cultures of own participating country.
Have an interest in and understanding of the participating countries other than your own country.
Be able to participate in the entire duration of the program.
English Proficiency: Must possess strong English communication skills to participate in high-level discussions and presentations.

Required Documents

Scanned copy of Cambodian Passport valid until Jan 4, 2027 (if available during online application)
Recent headshot photo with a white background
A motivation video
Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) - any format in English
Proof or Certificate of Enrollment for education institution (ex: Student ID card)
Certificate of English Proficiency ( certificate, recommendations letter, or an equivalent assessment from a recognized institution)
