About the program
The Max Planck Doucet Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded research residency hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt, Germany. It aims to empower early‑career researchers; particularly those from outside Frankfurt and especially Latin America, to engage deeply with the Doucet Collection, a rare archive of over 4,800 titles on colonial legal history in the Hispanic world.
Eligibility criteria
- Early‑career researchers (Master’s, PhD candidates, or early post-docs)
- Residing outside Frankfurt
- Research must focus on colonial legal history
- Application materials must be submitted in either English or Spanish
