About the program
Mississippi State University (MSU) offers the Out-of-State Resident Scholarship 2026 for both national and international students. This scholarship is awarded automatically to new students based on their academic performance from grades 9 to 11 and their ACT or SAT scores. Super scoring is permitted, and MSU will consider all test scores taken through the February test date of a student’s senior year.
Eligibility criteria
- MSU’s incoming freshman from outside Mississippi (domestic or foreign).
- The high school GPA (9th-11th grade) and standardized ACT/SAT test results are used to make the selection.
- Renewing the grant for up to eight semesters is possible for students who maintain the necessary MSU GPA.
- Completing the General Scholarship Application allows applicants to compete for additional scholarships.
